Check baggage requirements with the airline or the bus company you are traveling with. 4. Keep your travel documents in a secure and easy-for-you-to-reach place while on a trip. Before leaving the house, check if your passport, plastic cards and other travel documents are in your bag. There is nothing more frustrating than leaving the documents at home when you are thousands of miles away. 5. Make a few copies of the essential travel documents, such as flight reservations, place confirmations, rental car receipts and so on. Besides, write down important phone numbers in the address book of your cell phone for easy access. 6. Insure the hotel you will be staying at will provide you with the required facilities. 7. Always remember to have the major medical information, for instance a blood type, allergy (if any), medicines, etc. If you are on medication, do not pack it in your checked luggage.
