Today due to the scorching summer heat, air conditioners have turned into a basic necessity rather than luxury. The AC was launched by Stuart Cramer, but the term was suggested by Willis Carrier. Air conditioning systems reduce air humidity and maintain its quality. There are air conditioners intended to dry the air without cooling it. The air conditioner commonly consists of a condenser, an evaporator and a compressor. There is also a chemical substance to convert gas into liquid and vice versa. There are two types of air conditioners: a split and a package system. In the split system, the condenser and the compressor are placed outside the room and the evaporator intended for circulating the air around the room is installed inside the room. In the package system, all constituents are installed outside the room. There are small-sized, mid-sized and large-sized air conditioning systems. The most widely used air conditioner is the window air conditioner which is installed on a window and intended for cooling a particular room. If you wish to cool more than one room, pick out a split or a mini-split AC, hinging on how many rooms you wish to cool. The most widespread ones are portable air conditioning systems that you can move around. For cooling the whole house select central air conditioning systems. Portable air conditioning systems are beneficial, as you can use them in whichever room you want. It is a movable appliance and it has wheels so that you can easily roll it from one room to another. The only disadvantage of the air conditioner is electricity bills that can affect one's budget. Nevertheless, there are a few handy tips to help you decrease the amount of consumed electricity and, therefore, electricity bills: • Do not install the air conditioner the sun's direct rays. This makes the AC consume more electricity for cooling your room. • Do not purchase a large-sized air conditioning system for a small room. • Keep doors and windows closed, when the AC is in on. Hence, proper installation and deployment of the AC will save power. |
